This weekend Lillie and Sam had thier picture taken with Santa! Lillie was such a brave little girl! All smiles for Santa...can't say the same for her friend Sam...he thought Santa was one scary dude. After they got down from Santa's sled, Lillie helped calm Sam down with tons of eskimo kisses :-)
Think they could pass for brother & sister?

Why we love Wendy
So, last Friday morning, Wendy asked if I could come home from work the same time as Jay (which is about an hour early)....she said she had something to tell both of us at the same time. Instantly I thought "oh no, oh no, oh no!" She wouldn't give me any hints but insisted it wasn't bad news. Still, you can imagine how Jay & I worried most of the day. Wendy said only Sam and Lily knew the secret, and they are both her buddies, so they wouldn't tell me. SO....when Jay & I finally raced home from work....we got the news.....Our 5-year anniversary was the next day, and Wendy had a "Happy Anniversary" suprise for us!! Balloons, yummy cake, wine, and a card from Sam. The below pictures are pictures Wendy took of Sam coloring his anniversary card to us!! SOO SWEET!!! (I took a picture of the pictures with my camera phone...so the quality isn't that great)

1...err...2 teeth!
We have teeth! (Or the start of them anyways). When we were at the peditrician's office Monday, we noticed Sam's first tooth poking through his gummy smile! I never expected to be THAT happy about a tooth! Anyhow, this morning Wendy and I saw his second chomper poking through....what a big, growing little man!
Pics from a couple weekends ago when our Super Sam Sitters, The A-Team, kept Sam while Jay & I went to Conroe...there will be more to come as Aunty & Uncle A are keeping Sambo this Saturday night while Jay & I spend the night out for our 5-year Anniversary!

Barb & Sambo
We made a quick trip to Conroe this weekend. After Jen, mom & I participated in the Race for the Cure (which has left me somewhat paralyzed from being so sore!), we went to the hospital to meet Dustin & Kami's little girl, and then it was playtime at the Harwell House. Aunt Jen had Sam giggling like crazy!

What I like About...Well, Me!
What I like About...Well, Me!
I was tagged by STEVY (http://bobbyandstevy.blogspot.com/) to do a randomness survey! Enjoy!
1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules to your blog
3. Write 6 random things about yourself
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted.
Here are my random things...
1. I'm obsessed with the weather channel and hurricane season. I check it several times a day. I think I secretly want to be a meteorologist, but know I couldn't wake up that early every day to be on TV, and...if a camera pointed at me for live TV, I'd turn white and fall over.
2. I could easily survive off 2 things (food wise) - cheese and bread. My husband will confirm. Anyway you mix those two ingredients, you know the outcome will be good.
3. I have the absolute worst road rage. Traffic makes me crazy. Yes, I live in Houston, the perfect place to enhance my road rage flaw.
4. I am the most claustrophobic person I know. I flip out (silently) in elevators, have put off 2 MRIs on my back for 2 months, am terrified of basements and need to be heavily medicated when I fly. Seriously...I wouldn't sit next to me on a plane... :)
5. I cried on the log ride at Astroworld when I was in 5th grade, and haven't been on a rollercoaster since. (Yes, I know technically the log ride isn't a rollercoaster!)
6. Every year I celebrate my 25th birthday so I'll never hit 30 in my mind.
Let's see, now for the tagging part...I don't know how to do that yet...I'll have to figure that out later.

6 Month Check-Up
Sam had his 6 month checkup this morning, and I think we may have a future basketball player. He is in the 56% for weight, and 85% for height! Jay thinks he has the Harwell height. I think that now Sam may be almost half as tall as my mom & little sister :)

Working our way to the blogoshpere...
After viewing several blospots, well, I just had to have one. Sam is now 6 months old and I've not yet even sent our birth announcements or had professional photos taken! Bad mommy! To summarize the last 6 months....Samuel Thomas Walsh was born on February 25, 2008, weighing 6 lbs 9 oz, and 19 inches long. He was named after his Papa, whose middle name is also Thomas. I stayed home for 3 months (as the good old FMLA Act allows) and went back to work near the end of May. My sweet hubby took off from work the first 2 weeks Sam was born. When other parents warn you to "get your sleep now" before the baby comes, I've found they are offering very sound advise. I think Jay & I must of walked into walls several times those first couple weeks.
While home on maternity leave, Sam & I had lots of visits from Aunt Amanda (and Jill) who graciously always knocked on the door with a Sonic grilled cheese or sweets in hand. And Aunt Jen, who lives alllll the way in Frisco, came down to help with Sam for her entire Spring Break (she's a teacher). Sam was a pretty challenging little man at first, but after he finally agreed that he wasn't too cool to nap, and we got into some sort of routine, and put Sam on Prevacid, life became a little easier. Aunt Sarah would also come over on Thursdays to help out...which was always a bonus because she'd cook! (YUM). When it was time to head back to the working world, my stomach did flip-flops! I remember scheduling meetings back to back to keep my mind off not being an arm's reach from Sam. I still miss him while at the office, but a sweet, wonderful lady named Wendy cares for him while Jay & I are at work. It works out perfect.
Sam is rolling over, giggling and trying his best to get his crawl on! He's doing the bounce & scoot move for now. He loves Lily, our 5-year-old lab, and has recently discovered her ears are pretty cool toys.
Sam has been on solids for about a month, and has decided he will eat almost anything. Carrots, applesauce, green beans, pears... He also will almost take your entire finger off if you put a dab of chocolate milk on your fingertip. Just like mommy!
Sam at about 2.5 months...cutie pie.
Okay, one of the first things I want to share is a hilarious video clip I took the other night of Sam & Jay. Sam is laughing and squaking at Daddy. Sam just "found" his voice, so little man is making all kinds of funny noises....

Here's Sam & Lily. Lily's head looks huge in this picture. (No fat comments Uncle & Aunt J!)
Here's one of Sam's playstations....where he can choose to play little songs, shake rattles, and spin things and pull things...all in one place...life is good.
On June 29th, we had sweet Sam baptized at April Sound Church by the Pastor who married us. A couple pics...
My last picture for my very first post on my very first blog. Sam's been sleeping through the night since about 6 weeks old. Good baby! We usually put him down around 8:15pm, and he'll wake up around 7:45/8:00am. 99% of the time he wakes up in all smiles, playing with his toes. I usually leave for work around 7:30am, so I'm lucky to love on him before I leave. This was a couple Fridays ago before work when he decided to rise with the roosters...
